The electronic cigarette or personal vape is an excellent alternative for smokers who want to quit smoking. But given the diversity of models, it is not always easy to make the right choice. Thus, we offer you a short overview to better identify yourself!
Vapes are divided into 4 main categories: cigalike vapes, vape pen, box mod vape and pod vape. Let’s take stock of the different models and their associated uses.
ZOOM IN ON CIGALIKE VAPE
As its name suggests, the cigalike vape has the shape of a real cigarette. Some models even have a red tip that lights up during inhalation. Cigalike vapes are suitable for smokers who do not want to invest. However, they have limited autonomy and minimal vapor production.
The real problem with cigalike vapes lies in their closed-loop operation. The only way to refill it is to buy cartridges from the manufacturer’s brand. As a result, the price-performance ratio is much less attractive.
VAPE PEN: ENTER THE WORLD OF MADE-TO-MEASURE
The mod tube keeps the cylindrical shape of the cigarette. It consists of a rechargeable battery (removable or not) and a clearomiser. Some models have a fixed voltage battery while others have variable wattage. Variable wattage models allow vapor volume adjustment.
Mods tubes can be customized: e-liquids, resistances, drip-tip tip, everything can be changed. The only disadvantage is the initial investment, which is a little more substantial than that required for a cigalike.
BOX MOD VAPE: FOR DEMANDING VAPERS
The box mod vape has the same characteristics as the vape pen with variable voltage, but with a more rectangular shape. It looks like a pave, while the mod tube is cylindrical. Currently, many models have a fixed battery that charges in USB. The autonomy of the box mod is much better than that of other models.
The mod box is particularly appreciated by vapers for its excellent ergonomics. Gradually this type of personal vaporizer tends to replace the tube mod, less practical and relatively expensive in terms of its performance.
POD VAPE: DISCOVER A NEW WAY TO VAPORIZE
The pod vape have a cylindrical shape and are the size of a large USB stick. They have about the same autonomy as a cigalike, but much more steam production.
Like the cicadas, pods use a proprietary system. They must be recharged with cartridges of the device brand. However, it is not uncommon for manufacturers to associate themselves with well-known e-liquid brands in order to offer specific flavors. The pod can be seen as an improved cigalike.
Occasional vapers will prefer cigalikes or pods. These models require a relatively light investment, but cannot be customized. Heavy smokers or those who want to have a personalized flip-flop experience will be directed to a mod tube or mod box. They are slightly more expensive than the average, but have a much better life span and value for money.
